We are an ASX listed business, building digital platforms to power Australia’s largest Private and Public sector organisations.

We are looking for an experienced analyst programmer to join the team to assist with formulating and producing requirement specifications to create and improve our digital platforms.

About the role

  • 5+ years experience, with some major runs on the board, building reliable, scalable, complex software applications
  • Researching, consulting, analysing and evaluating system program needs
  • Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods
  • Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification
  • Writing and maintaining program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards
  • Writing, updating and maintaining technical program, end user documentation and operational procedures
  • Providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades
  • Advanced skills in two or more programming languages, but needs to include our core language Java and ReactJS would also be advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in building full stack web products using open source and cloud technologies.
  • Advanced skills in modern software development techniques such as object orientation, test driven development, micro-services, and continuous delivery.
  • Predominantly focused on back-end development using Java but has an appetite to work on both front-end and back-end systems
  • Experience supporting and maintaining existing production systems
  • Experience with CI/CD tools e.g. Bamboo, Jenkins or Azure DevOps
  • Financial Services experience will be great, but any business critical platform exposure will also be an advantage.

About you

  • Degree qualified in computer science, software engineering or a related field with a strong programming component, highly desirable
  • Familiar with C#, SQL, Typescript and jQuery.
  • A working knowledge of Git and Docker would be desirable
  • A high aptitude for creating fast, clean code
  • Willingness to learn
  • Superior administration and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Brilliant time management & prioritisation skills

Due to the collaboration across the business required in this role, the successful applicant will need to be available to work from the Melbourne office 5 days a week.
